Hello World! I made this Hello Kitty 5th birthday cake for the sweet little daughter of one of my co-workers. This cake took on a whole unique look.
I couldn’t decide which Hello Kitty she might like, so I took ideas from several different pictures online and combined them to come up with the cutest design I could.
The ‘kitty’ and the number 5 were cut from gum paste. Also, the kitten was cut and glued in several layers to create a 3D effect.
The cake was covered in sweet buttercream frosting and topped off with bright pink rosettes, created with a 1 M icing tip.
The polka dots and black strips are fondant.
The gum paste flowers were cut and attached to white florist’s wire for the firework effect on top.
A sweet cake for a sweet birthday girl… Smiles all around!
